Bregman Could Return Before the All-Star Game<\/h2>\n\nBoston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman expressed optimism about the possibility of rejoining the team without going through a rehabilitation assignment in the minor leagues.\n\nBregman, who has been out of action since May 24 due to a right quadriceps strain, even suggested that his return could be this very week. “The trend is towards a fairly quick return,” Bregman commented after Boston’s victory over the Rockies. “Whether it’s at the end of this week or in the first game after the break. I hope it’s at the end of this week.”\n\nThe Boston team concludes its three-game series against Colorado on Wednesday, and then hosts Tampa Bay for a four-game series that runs from Thursday to Sunday, marking the end of the first half of the season.\n\nThe Red Sox had high expectations for Bregman, 31, after his arrival as a free agent with a three-year, $120 million contract during the offseason. Before his injury, the player was maintaining an impressive pace, with a batting average of .299, 11 home runs, and 35 RBIs. Monday marked his 40th game off the field.\n\nThe injury is similar to the one he suffered in 2021 in his left quadriceps, which cost him 58 games. However, Bregman is hopeful and believes he can return without needing to play in the minors.\n\n\n
