The absence is due to surgery to repair a rupture of the right Achilles tendon.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI have no doubt that he will come back better than ever,\u201d said Pacers president Kevin Pritchard, speaking to WISH-TV of Indiana. \u201cThe surgery went well. The recovery will be favorable. However, he will not play next year. We would not put that at risk now. So don&#8217;t get your hopes up that he&#8217;s going to play.\u201d<\/p><cite>Kevin Pritchard, President of the Pacers<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nHaliburton suffered the injury in the seventh game of the NBA Finals last month. The Oklahoma City Thunder won that game, securing their first title in franchise history.\n\nWithout Haliburton, the Pacers were outscored 56-43 in the second half, leading to Oklahoma City&#8217;s victory with a score of 103-91.\n\nThe two-time All-Star scored nine points, including three three-pointers, before leaving the game.
