The Venezuelan national team claimed the crown of the XIV Pan American 11-12 Year Old Baseball Tournament, after defeating the Dominican Republic 6-3 in an exciting final held at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center. With this result, the Venezuelan team successfully defends the title obtained last year, consolidating its dominance in the category.<\/p>\n\n
The match was defined early by the visitors’ offensive power. William Heredia became the main figure by hitting a three-run home run in the first inning against pitcher Jandel Soto, who ultimately took the loss. Later, Daniel Uricote extended the lead with a solo home run in the fourth inning. From the mound, Jos\u00e9 Moros did a solid job that allowed him to earn the victory.<\/p>\n\n
For the Dominican squad, the offensive effort was led by Isauris Mej\u00eda with a home run and Jasiel Mena, who hit a two-run double in the sixth inning, although it was not enough to overcome the score.<\/p>\n\n\n
