The religious leader, who has a global vision of social issues, emphasized that the work of the Church must transcend words and become a tangible refuge. According to Leo XIV, the institution must act as a family for those individuals who have been excluded due to situations such as violence, extreme poverty, or the consumption of illicit substances.<\/p>\n\n
To face this challenge, the pontiff proposed four fundamental axes of work:<\/p>\n\n
- Strengthening the bond between the Church and international organizations.<\/li>
- Constant dialogue between scientific advances and the values of faith.<\/li>
- Promoting a Church that actively accompanies those who are journeying through hardship.<\/li>
- Promoting ecumenism as a path to unity in the face of social crisis.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n
The Church as a home for the marginalized<\/h3>\n\n
At the conclusion of his speech, the Pope called for not being indifferent to the pain of others. Comparing the mission of the Church to the parable of the Good Samaritan, he urged those present to stop, approach those who suffer, and offer comfort, turning communities into true homes for rehabilitation and hope.<\/p>\n\n
