In a strategic operation carried out at the Las Am\u00e9ricas International Airport (AILA-JFPG), agents from the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), together with the Public Ministry and the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC), managed to intercept a shipment of illicit substances that was intended to be brought into the country.<\/p>\n\n
The discovery was made during routine inspection work in the cargo area. Thanks to scanning technology, security teams detected irregularities in a cardboard box, which immediately triggered security protocols. The intervention was supported by canine units, which confirmed the presence of controlled substances inside the package.<\/p>\n\n
Following a thorough inspection carried out under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, authorities found a plastic tube hidden inside a blueprint holder. Inside, six packages of marijuana were located, wrapped in plastic bags, with a total approximate weight of seven pounds.<\/p>\n\n\n
According to the shipping manifest, the box coming from Miami, United States, was addressed to a man who was recently arrested while leaving a shopping mall in the National District, just as he went to pick it up.
