The Fuegian authorities describe the situation as inadmissible, pointing out that the operation of a British vessel in a port of the province \u2014territory that includes the Malvinas Islands according to the National Constitution\u2014 contradicts the country&#8217;s principles of sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The national government maintains that it was the local authorities who allowed the operation to load oil.<\/li><li>Tierra del Fuego maintains a law in force that prohibits the supply and mooring of British-flagged vessels.<\/li><li>There is a prior lawsuit by the provincial government against the central State over the control of the port of Ushuaia.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p>The conflict is intensifying because the national Executive took control of the port of Ushuaia last January, a measure that had already generated legal friction with the Melella administration.
