However, the meteorological outlook will change significantly during the afternoon and into the night, when rainfall activity will intensify.

Provinces under rain alert

Rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and wind gusts, will be concentrated mainly in the following areas:

La Altagracia and Hato Mayor

Monte Plata and San Cristóbal

Duarte and Sánchez Ramírez

Monseñor Nouel and La Vega

Santiago, San José de Ocoa and San Juan

Elías Piña and Azua

Greater Santo Domingo (with higher incidence in the northern area)

In the National District, an increase in afternoon cloudiness is expected, which will lead to showers and electrical activity. Similarly, Santo Domingo North and West will record scattered downpours, while in Santo Domingo East, showers with thunderstorms will continue.

Recommendations for intense heat

Despite the rains, the environment will remain hot. Maximum temperatures will range between 34 °C and 36 °C, while minimums will be between 24 °C and 26 °C. Given this scenario, Alofoke Deportes shares the recommendations from Indomet:

Maintain constant hydration.

Use light clothing, preferably in light colors.

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight without proper protection.

Pay special attention to vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women.

Meteorological surveillance in the Atlantic

The meteorological agency is keeping two systems in the Atlantic Ocean under strict surveillance:

Cape Verde: A low-pressure area to the south-southeast has a 60% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next two days and 70% in a week.

Bermuda: A system of showers to the east-northeast has a 40% chance of cyclonic development. Indomet has clarified that, due to its location and current trajectory, this system does not pose a danger to the Dominican Republic.

Indomet forecasts downpours and thunderstorms due to a new tropical wave The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) has issued a report on weather conditions for this Tuesday, highlighting the incidence of a new tropical wave that, together with an upper-level trough and local effects, will cause precipitation across much of the national territory.
