Daniel Su\u00e1rez and Trackhouse Racing to Part Ways at the End of 2025<\/h2>\n\nMexican driver Daniel Su\u00e1rez, the only winner of a NASCAR national series race born in Mexico, will leave Trackhouse Racing at the end of the 2025 season.\n\nBoth Trackhouse and Su\u00e1rez have described this separation as a “mutual decision”, which will allow the driver to seek new opportunities for next season.\n\nAlthough Trackhouse hasn’t announced a replacement for the No. 99 Chevrolet, Su\u00e1rez’s departure opens the door for the team to promote young sensation Connor Zilisch.\n\nZilisch, who competes in the Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports, has participated in three Cup races for Trackhouse this season, including Saturday night’s race in Atlanta.\n\nSu\u00e1rez, 33, has achieved two victories in 305 Cup races and is currently 29th in the points standings this season. He is in his fifth season with Trackhouse Racing and was the team’s first driver in 2021.\n\n\n

We took a team that no one had heard of in 2021 and, in just a couple of years, we were winning races and competing at the front weekly. Like the seasons of the year, sometimes things change and we have agreed to go our separate ways.<\/p>Daniel Su\u00e1rez<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nTrackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks thanked Su\u00e1rez for his contributions.\n\n\n

The role Daniel has played in the history of Trackhouse and in its first five years will remain a valuable part of the company’s history forever. His commitment, work ethic, and dedication to effort is one of the most impressive things I have personally seen in my career.<\/p>Justin Marks<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nTrackhouse Racing also has Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen under contract, in addition to Zilisch as a development driver. Chastain has six career wins and was the Cup Series runner-up in 2022, while van Gisbergen has a win this year and is in the playoffs.\n\nSu\u00e1rez, who became a U.S. citizen last year, also has three wins in the Xfinity Series and one in the Truck Series. His 2016 championship in the Xfinity Series made him the only foreign-born driver to win a national series title.\n\nLast month, Su\u00e1rez had a triumphant return to his home country by winning the Xfinity Series race in Mexico City, driving for JR Motorsports at the Aut\u00f3dromo Hermanos Rodr\u00edguez.\n\nHowever, the combination of celebrating a homecoming with pending contract negotiations weighed on Su\u00e1rez.\n\n\n

It’s not the first time I’ve been in this position. Definitely, the first time with the Mexico race, but it’s not the first time I’ve been in the position of having to win or in the position of having a contract negotiation in the middle of the season. It’s definitely a distraction. I won’t sit here and tell you that it doesn’t really matter. I’m trying to be as smart as possible and put all this aside and just do my thing on the track.<\/p>Daniel Su\u00e1rez<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nSu\u00e1rez will continue competing on the track in 2026 with a new team.\n\nSu\u00e1rez began his Cup career with Joe Gibbs Racing and has competed for Stewart-Haas Racing and Gaunt Brothers Racing.
