Rhys Hoskins, Brewers Player, Out with Thumb Injury<\/h2>\n\nMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins will be out of action for at least “a few days” due to discomfort in his left thumb, according to manager Pat Murphy after the Brewers’ 4-2 loss to the Miami Marlins on Saturday.\n\n\n

“It doesn’t look good. It’s not fractured,” Murphy said. “It doesn’t feel good right now. It’s your bottom hand for hitting, so it’s really, really important.<\/p>Pat Murphy, Brewers Manager<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nHoskins, 32, felt pain after stepping on the base and catching shortstop Joey Ortiz’s errant throw while trying to put out Eric Wagaman in the fourth inning. Murphy and a Brewers trainer immediately went to attend to Hoskins, who finished the inning but was replaced by Jake Bauers in the fifth.\n\nHoskins tried to grab a bat before the inning and told Murphy he couldn’t continue.\n\nFor it to be like that with Rhys Hoskins, because I know who he is, it’s because it’s really hurting him,” Murphy said. “I don’t think we’ll see him in a few days.
