Thomas M\u00fcller Says Goodbye to Bayern Munich<\/h2>\n\nAfter the final whistle at the Club World Cup, Thomas M\u00fcller said goodbye to the Bayern Munich fans.\n\nThe German footballer ends a quarter of a century with the Bavarian club.\n\nM\u00fcller, 35 years old, played his last match on Saturday, a 2-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals, a bittersweet end to a stage full of successes.\n\nM\u00fcller came on as a substitute in the 80th minute and appeared to provoke a penalty in the final seconds of added time when PSG’s Nuno Mendes made a hard tackle in the area.\n\nHowever, the video review showed that Mendes’ foot hit the ball, grazing M\u00fcller’s chin, and that sealed PSG’s victory.\n\n\n

“I’m still in work mode,” said M\u00fcller. “It doesn’t feel very different from before the match, when we tried, and I also tried, to get through another round.”<\/p>\n\nThomas M\u00fcller<\/cite>\n\n\n\n

\"Thomas<\/figure>\n\n\nM\u00fcller wasn’t ready to reflect on his brilliant career at Bayern, which began when he joined the club at the age of 10 in the summer of 2000.\n\n\n

“In the end, maybe we deserved more,” said M\u00fcller. “But in football, when you have these tight matches, sometimes it’s a toss-up. And, yes, we lost it.”<\/p>\n\nThomas M\u00fcller<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nM\u00fcller made more appearances than any other player at Bayern, with more than 200 goals scored and more than 200 assists. He led the club to a record 13 Bundesliga titles, saying goodbye with a final championship last season.\n\nHowever, Bayern announced in April that they would not extend his contract.\n\n\n

“Of course, I am aware that this was my last match, and I will see what goes through my head in the coming days,” said M\u00fcller.<\/p>\n\nThomas M\u00fcller<\/cite>\n\n\nHe has not yet revealed his future plans, although there have been reports linking him to a possible move to Major League Soccer in the United States.\n\n\n
