With the goal of supporting the economy of Dominican households ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 school year, the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, confirmed that hundreds of thousands of families already have the funds from the ‘Bono a Mil’. This initiative seeks to alleviate financial burdens during the back-to-school period.<\/p>\n\n
According to the official, a total of 483,862 families received the deposit directly into their bank accounts since last Sunday. For this program, the Government has allocated an investment of RD$1.251 billion, benefiting students in the public sector throughout the national territory.<\/p>\n\n

President Luis Abinader called on parents and guardians who have not yet collected the benefit to proceed with the transaction. The president emphasized that this support is fundamental to ensure that students have the necessary supplies for their learning process.<\/p>\n\n
During the official opening ceremony, held at the Espejo Milagrosa de Cancela La Ure\u00f1a School, in Santo Domingo Este, the authorities highlighted the pillars that will govern this new school year:<\/p>\n\n\n
- Comprehensive school preparation.<\/li>
- Strengthening infrastructure and student well-being.<\/li>
- Focus on improving educational quality.<\/li>
- Vision of education for the future.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n
Minister De Camps highlighted that the educational system is prepared to receive more than two million students, distributed across more than 8,000 educational centers enabled nationwide. In addition, the assignment of necessary teaching and administrative staff has been completed, added to the expansion of the school transport system to facilitate student access to the schools.<\/p>\n\n
