The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) executed an interdiction deployment in the Santo Domingo Este municipality, achieving the detention of 24 Haitian citizens who, according to the official report, were in Dominican territory without the required legal documentation.<\/p>\n\n
The inspection operation, which covered more than 20 Chinese-owned commercial establishments, responds to the territorial control strategy promoted by the current DGM management to ensure that foreigners comply with the immigration laws in force in the country.<\/p>\n\n
The actions were coordinated under the guidelines of the Director General of Migration, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, ARD. The agents focused on areas of high commercial activity, specifically in the surroundings of San Vicente de Pa\u00fal and Padre Castellanos avenues, better known as “La 17”.<\/p>\n\n
The inspected businesses mainly included fast food establishments and general merchandise stores. During the intervention, control teams verified the legal status of the employees present, resulting in the detention of the 24 individuals who could not prove their legal residency.<\/p>\n\n
