During the event, the president highlighted that, after overcoming the challenges of coverage and access, the Dominican educational system is now focused on a higher goal: raising the quality of learning.<\/p>\n\n<p>The head of state stressed the importance of students not only attending classes, but also developing critical skills such as reasoning, reading comprehension, and the ability to express themselves clearly. These competencies, according to the president, are fundamental for young people to be able to adapt to the demands and constant transformations of today&#8217;s world.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A commitment to the academic future<\/h3>\n\n<p>Citing international reports, Abinader acknowledged the country&#8217;s progress regarding the enrollment of children in the school system and the increase in graduation rates. However, he emphasized that the current goal is to transform those numbers into qualitative results.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">That our students understand, reason, express themselves clearly, solve problems, discover their talents, and develop the necessary skills to function in a world that changes every day.<\/p>\n<cite>Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic<\/cite>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The fundamental role of the family<\/h3>\n\n<p>Another central axis of the speech was the necessary collaboration between the school system and the family nucleus.
