On the contrary, the goal is to establish a clear order that prioritizes the pedagogical use of the equipment and adapts to the specific needs of each educational level.

Pedagogical approach by levels

Initial Level: It has been determined that the use of these devices is not necessary, as the priority at this stage is to foster the development of social skills, dialogue, and direct interaction among students.

Primary Level: Their use will be restricted, permitted only in specific grades when the teacher or the school management team requires it for specific educational activities.

Regulating technological resources in educational centers does not imply prohibition; it implies that technology must enter the classroom with a purpose, with a pedagogical use.
Wilson Mateo, Director of Educational Informatics at MINERD

Protection of the student image and technological future

The new regulations also address the privacy of minors. Teachers are strictly prohibited from posting photographs or videos of their students on personal social media without first obtaining informed consent from parents or guardians, in addition to the proper authorization from the educational institution. This measure seeks to safeguard the integrity and image of the students against third parties.

While these restrictions are being implemented, the MINERD reaffirms its commitment to innovation. The institution is currently working on a strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into the national curriculum and continues to strengthen its successful robotics program, which benefited some 25,000 students during the summer period.

The official opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year was led by President Luis Abinader along with the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, from the Espejo La Milagrosa Primary School, in Santo Domingo Este. The authorities call on the educational community to maintain constant support for students, a key factor to guarantee academic success and integral development during this new school cycle.

MINERD regulates the use of mobile devices in educational centers for this school year With the start of the 2026-2027 school year, the Ministry of Education (MINERD) has implemented Departmental Order 11-2026, a regulation designed to govern the use of cell phones and other electronic devices in educational centers, both public and private, throughout the […]

[12809
14193,10,12948,3509
0":"post-147450","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-national","8":"tag-cell-phones","9":"tag-education","10":"tag-minerd","11":"tag-technology
["GET
