Jason Pierre-Paul Seeks NFL Return After Accident<\/h2>\n\nExperienced defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who suffered the loss of fingers in a fireworks accident, has intensified his training with an eye on a possible return to the New York Giants.\n\nPierre-Paul, known for his aggressiveness on the field, seeks a new opportunity to prove his worth in the NFL.\n\n\n

“I think it will be fantastic to return to the place where my career began. The fans know me and know the type of player I am. I will always be that type of player and I will give them everything I have, I know it will be more than enough,” he said.<\/p>\n\nJason Pierre-Paul<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe incident, which occurred in 2015 during the celebration of United States Independence Day, resulted in the amputation of his index finger and part of the thumb of his right hand.\n\nDespite this setback, Pierre-Paul has maintained a high level of play, establishing himself as a prominent quarterback hunter.\n\nThe 36-year-old player, champion with the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI and with the Buccaneers in the LV edition, lamented last season due to injuries that limited him to only three games in 2023.\n\nWith 94.5 quarterback sacks in his career, Pierre-Paul is convinced that, if it weren’t for the accident, he would have surpassed 100 sacks. Now, he hopes to reach that goal, whether with the Giants or another team.\n\n\n

“I can still do it. I have seven and a half fingers. I’m still alive. So if you have a new opportunity every day, why not take advantage of it,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n\nJason Pierre-Paul<\/cite>\n\n\nSelected in the first round of the 2010 Draft by the Giants, Pierre-Paul won his first championship in 2011. Then, in 2018, he joined the Buccaneers, where he earned his second ring.
