The event, which is being held at the Prof. Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Palace in Santo Domingo, represents the first strategic step for the Dominican team on its path to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Dominican team will face Costa Rica starting at 8:30 p.m., looking to secure their first victory in the preliminary round. The local squad is in Group B, which also includes the representatives from Puerto Rico and Cuba, while Group A is composed of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Trinidad and Tobago.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Competition format and international objectives<\/h2>\n\n<p>The initial phase of the tournament will take place from this Friday to Sunday.
