The Leones del Escogido have made an official strategic move in their pitching staff ahead of the upcoming Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) season. The capital city team finalized the acquisition of right-handed pitcher Dinelson Lamet from the \u00c1guilas Cibae\u00f1as in a trade that sent left-handed reliever G\u00e9nesis Cabrera to the Santiago team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lamet, 34, a native of Santiago de los Caballeros, brings a valuable seven-year career in Major League Baseball. His time in the best baseball in the world includes stints with the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers, recording a 4.63 ERA and accumulating 474 strikeouts in 367.2 innings pitched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pitcher joins the red squad after standing out in the Mexican Baseball League with El \u00c1guila de Veracruz, where over the last two seasons he tallied eight wins and an impressive 136 strikeouts in 137.1 innings, holding opposing batters to a .240 batting average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
