The 34-year-old player has officially signed with Pumas UNAM, a team in the Liga MX.\n\nRamsey, who already has a work visa to play in the MX League, arrived in Mexico City on Tuesday to undergo medical examinations before signing his contract.\n\nI am excited to play and be part of this historic club, I can&#8217;t wait to be on the field.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a1.espncdn.com\/combiner\/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2025%2F0701%2Fr1513527_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg\" alt=\"Aaron Ramsey llega al aeropuerto de Ciudad de M\u00e9xico para jugar con los Pumas.\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\nThe Pumas are considered one of the four most popular teams in the country, although they haven&#8217;t won a title since the Clausura 2011 tournament.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I&#8217;ve seen some [Liga MX] matches and I&#8217;m very impressed, there are very good teams here and I&#8217;m excited to be in this competition now.<\/p><cite>Aaron Ramsey<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe Pumas coach, Efra\u00edn Ju\u00e1rez, who is represented by the same agency as Ramsey, was fundamental in bringing the player to Mexico City.\n\nRamsey finished last season as interim coach of Cardiff City, his hometown club, which was relegated from the Championship to League One. With 86 appearances for the Wales national team, the midfielder helped his country reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016.\n\nIn April, Ramsey stated that the &#8220;World Cup is a great carrot&#8221;, and now the Wales captain will seek to maintain his form ahead of the 2026 tournament.\n\nDespite being one of the traditional &#8220;big four&#8221; of the Liga MX, the Pumas have struggled.
