The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, led the official reception this Friday for the top authorities of international football, Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, and Victor Montagliani, president of Concacaf. Both leaders arrived in the country through the Punta Cana International Airport to participate in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agenda of global football&#8217;s top executives includes a series of strategic meetings with representatives of the associations that make up the CFU, with the goal of charting the path for the development and strengthening of football throughout the Caribbean region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support for the growth of national soccer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the welcoming event, Minister Kelvin Cruz was accompanied by prominent figures from the sports and political spheres, including the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Garibaldi Bautista; the head of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mej\u00eda Oviedo; the Deputy Minister of Sports, Karilyn Chabebe; the senator for La Altagracia, Rafael Bar\u00f3n Duluc Rijo; and the National Soccer Commissioner, Benny Metz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most significant moments was the telephone contact held by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, with Gianni Infantino. During this conversation, the Dominican leader welcomed the FIFA head, who in turn expressed his firm willingness to collaborate with the Dominican State to boost local football talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>For the Dominican Republic, it is a source of pride to welcome FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Concacaf President Victor Montagliani, and all the leaders who are part of the Caribbean Football Union.
