United and Derby County, and recently managed Plymouth Argyle, a team from which he separated last December.\n\nRooney, England&#8217;s second-highest goalscorer in history with 53 goals, has been working as a sports commentator and is a regular member of the Overlap podcast alongside football legends such as Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.\n\nLast month, Rooney scored the fastest goal in Soccer Aid history, scoring against his former teammate Edwin van der Sar at Old Trafford.\n\nColeen already participated in a Disney+ documentary series in 2023, titled &#8220;Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story&#8221;.\n\nThe announcement of this series was made along with the news of the new version of the British dating series &#8220;Blind Date&#8221; and a documentary about the parenthood of Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, stars of &#8220;Made in Chelsea&#8221;.\n\nAdditionally, Disney+ recently announced that it will be the new platform for the UEFA Women&#8217;s Champions League in Europe for the next five seasons.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wayne Rooney to star in Disney+ documentary series Disney+ has confirmed the production of a documentary series focused on the life of Wayne Rooney, the former footballer and ex-captain of the England national team, and his wife, Coleen.
