Under the name &#8220;Let&#8217;s Lift Up Colombia,&#8221; a group of historic figures from national soccer will gather with the goal of raising funds for the families and communities affected by the strong earthquake that occurred on August 10th.<\/p>\n\n<p>The initiative, led by former defender Mario Yepes, has generated a massive response from the fans, managing to sell out tickets in just two days. This support reflects the commitment of Colombian society in the face of the tragedy that has left a toll, according to figures from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, of 319 dead, 260 missing, and more than 4,500 people injured.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A star-studded cast on the pitch<\/h3>\n\n<p>The match will feature the participation of 36 players who have left their mark on the history of Colombian soccer. Among the confirmed names, figures from different generations who have worn the national team jersey stand out:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Radamel Falcao Garc\u00eda and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.<\/li>\n<li>Carlos \u201cel Pibe\u201d Valderrama and Juan Pablo \u00c1ngel.<\/li>\n<li>Faryd Mondrag\u00f3n and \u00d3scar C\u00f3rdoba.<\/li>\n<li>Jackson Mart\u00ednez, Te\u00f3filo Guti\u00e9rrez and Fredy Guar\u00edn.<\/li>\n<li>Camilo Z\u00fa\u00f1iga, Carlos S\u00e1nchez, Giovanni Moreno, Fabi\u00e1n Vargas, Alexander Mej\u00eda and Macnelly Torres.<\/li>\n<li>John Javier \u201cChoronta\u201d Restrepo, Giovanni Hern\u00e1ndez, Cristian Zapata, Gerardo Bedoya and Carlos Vald\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>The technical direction of the teams will be in charge of two undisputed benchmarks: Francisco \u201cPacho\u201d Maturana and Ren\u00e9 Higuita. There is even a possibility that Higuita will actively participate in the game during some passages of the match.<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Everything that is raised will go to them and we will be vigilant and supporting in every way.<\/p><cite>Mario Yepes, event organizer.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p>Mario Yepes, a native of Cali, one of the cities most impacted by the earthquake, emphasized that the main purpose is to use soccer as a vehicle for hope and tangible support.
