Communicator Jaime Rincón expressed his support for the transformation that Radio Televisión Dominicana (RTVD) is undergoing under the direction of Iván Ruiz, highlighting the process of consolidating the station as a true public television service for the citizenry.

During his speech, Rincón highlighted as a key point of this administration the democratic opening of the channel, allowing diverse political organizations to have spaces for participation. In this sense, he cited as an example the holding of electoral debates, an initiative that has set an important precedent in state television and that will continue to take place this coming Sunday.

After Iván Ruiz took over the management of this television station, there are opportunities for all parties here. For example, the debates were held and the debates will be held this Sunday; we are starting.

Jaime Rincón

A channel funded by the citizenry

The communicator emphasized the importance of a media outlet funded by taxpayer money guaranteeing freedom of expression and a plurality of voices. According to Rincón, it is fundamental that the State promotes inclusive platforms where Dominican society can see itself represented.

This is paid for with everyone’s taxes and everything that is about freedom of expression is welcome.

Jaime Rincón

With these statements, Rincón positively assesses the direction RTVD has taken, consolidating itself as a space where transparency and informational openness are the fundamental pillars for democratic strengthening in the Dominican Republic.
