Two men were placed under arrest after being caught transporting a massive shipment of foreign-sourced cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operation details<\/h3>\n\n<p>The intervention took place when the military intercepted a blue Daihatsu truck, license plate L189266, which was traveling through the area. Given the suspicious behavior of the occupants, a thorough inspection of the vehicle was carried out, revealing a carefully planned smuggling attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Quantity seized: 230 thousand units of Capital brand cigarettes.<\/li><li>Presentation: 23 boxes hidden among agricultural products.<\/li><li>Location of the event: Kilometer 15 checkpoint, Azua.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p>According to the official report, the individuals attempted to evade military surveillance by using shipments of avocados and mangoes as a facade to hide the boxes of cigarettes. This concealment tactic was intended to hinder detection by authorities during routine roadside checks.<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The individuals and the confiscated vehicle were transferred to the General Antonio Duverg\u00e9 Fortress, where they remain under military custody awaiting processing by the competent authorities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p>The case has been referred to the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office to continue the corresponding legal investigations.
