Due to the intensity of the seismic movement and the occurrence of four subsequent aftershocks, the authorities made the preventive decision to evacuate the Nasrid Palaces and the Alcazaba of the Alhambra monumental complex.<\/p>\n\n<p>Representatives of the iconic monument have confirmed that constant supervision of the structures is being maintained to assess potential damage, which is why visits will remain suspended until further notice.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seismic activity details<\/h2>\n\n<p>The National Geographic Institute (IGN) recorded the main tremor at 10:37 hours. Shortly after, the earth moved again on four occasions, highlighting an aftershock of magnitude 4.0 that occurred at 10:53 hours. In addition, other minor seismic movements have been reported in the surrounding area:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2.9 magnitude earthquake in Padul.<\/li><li>2.8 magnitude earthquake in Alhend\u00edn.<\/li><li>2.6 magnitude earthquake in Las Gabias.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Experts point out that seismic movements and aftershocks may continue in the area, and it is important to know how we should act in these situations. For its part, the Granada Metro has implemented a preventive measure by limiting the speed of its trains to 30 kilometers per hour.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Granada Local Police have called for calm, recommending that citizens avoid staying near facades or old buildings due to the risk of decorative elements or construction materials falling.
