At the end of the year, the country reached a total of 6,640,871 registered units, which represents an increase of 446,819 vehicles compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of this total volume, 70.7% corresponds to individuals, while the remaining 29.3% belongs to legal entities. A revealing piece of data is the increasingly active role of women in vehicle ownership, who already account for approximately 1.1 million units in their name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The prominence of women behind the wheel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although men maintain a predominant participation with 76.1% of the total number of individuals, the trend indicates an acceleration in the growth of female ownership. During 2025, the number of vehicles registered in the name of women experienced an increase of 6%, significantly exceeding the 3.8% growth recorded in the male sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hato Mayor:<\/strong> Leads the national list with 29% female participation in the vehicle fleet.<\/li>\n<li><strong>La Altagracia:<\/strong> Records 28.5% female owners.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peravia:<\/strong> Stands at 28.1%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Saman\u00e1 and San Pedro de Macor\u00eds:<\/strong> Complete the top spots with 27.9% and 27.8%, respectively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The 6% year-on-year growth in vehicle ownership by women is one of the most relevant indicators of the behavior of the vehicle fleet in 2025, reflecting significant changes in mobility and asset acquisition in the country.<\/p>\n<cite>Alofoke Deportes<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preferences, seniority and collection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding mobility preferences, motorcycles continue to dominate the national landscape with 57.9% of the total. When breaking down preferences by gender, it is observed that women mostly opt for motorcycles (41.3%), followed by cars (28.8%) and jeeps (23.7%). For their part, men show a more marked inclination towards motorcycles, which represent 55% of their registrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the state of the vehicle fleet, the report highlights that 83.7% of the units are more than five years old. Regarding the origin of the vehicles (excluding motorcycles), the Japanese industry leads the Dominican market with 59.8%, followed by South Korea with 15% and the United States with 11.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, this dynamism in the sector has had a direct impact on the State&#8217;s coffers.
