The constant accumulation of sewage has turned this main road into a source of contamination that seriously affects the health of residents and the operations of local merchants.<\/p>\n\n<p>The stagnation of these waters not only gives off foul odors, but also prevents the free transit of pedestrians, who must seek alternate routes to avoid contact with the contaminated water. Nearby businesses report a decrease in their clientele due to the unsanitary conditions surrounding the environment.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A call without institutional response<\/h3>\n\n<p>According to the complainants, the problem has dragged on due to the lack of action by the competent authorities. Those affected have tried to manage solutions through the appropriate channels, facing a scenario of neglect:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>CAASD:<\/strong> Residents claim to have requested the intervention of the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation on repeated occasions, without having received an effective response to date.<\/li><li><strong>Municipal City Hall:<\/strong> Upon approaching the local council, residents were told that the repair of this drainage system is not the responsibility of the mayor&#8217;s office.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We tried to take the initiative to solve the problem on our own, but City Hall inspectors showed up at the site to stop us from continuing with the cleaning and repair work.<\/p><cite>Affected residents of the Los Americanos sector<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p>This situation has generated great frustration among the neighbors, who feel trapped in a conflict of jurisdiction while the health problem worsens every day.
