According to Panama’s National Border Service (Senafront), the presence of the Gulf Clan is absolute in the area. For this reason, border cooperation has been intensified to prevent the influence of this organization from spreading into Panamanian territory.<\/p>\n\n
Containment and border security strategies<\/h2>\n\n\n
- Aerial eradication:<\/strong> Black Hawk helicopters are used to transport troops that carry out the direct eradication of illicit crops.<\/li>
- Binational cooperation:<\/strong> The Alto Lim\u00f3n Binational Post serves as an operations base where 19 Colombian officials work alongside Panamanian agents to secure the border.<\/li>
