On August 2, 2027, the world will witness a phenomenon classified as the eclipse of the century due to its extraordinary duration, an event that will once again have Spain as a privileged protagonist.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A record-breaking astronomical event<\/h3>\n\n<p>According to data from the National Geographic Institute, this eclipse will stand out for an unusually long totality phase. At its peak, which will be located in Egypt, total darkness will last for 6 minutes and 23 seconds. The path of the phenomenon will begin in the Atlantic Ocean, cross the Strait of Gibraltar, travel along the north coast of Africa, enter the Red Sea, and end its trajectory in the Indian Ocean, passing through Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spain: key point for observation<\/h3>\n\n<p>As was the case on previous occasions, Spanish territory will offer a strategic position for observation. While in most of Europe the eclipse will be perceived partially, the south of Spain will experience totality.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Privileged provinces:<\/strong> C\u00e1diz, M\u00e1laga, Granada and Almer\u00eda, along with the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, will experience total darkness.<\/li><li><strong>Duration in Spanish territory:<\/strong> In some areas of the south, the totality phase will exceed four minutes, doubling the time recorded in recent events.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The locations of centrality in Egypt will be the best in the world to observe this eclipse, which will conclude its path at 14:43 Spanish peninsular time after 313 minutes of the phenomenon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 2028 ring of fire<\/h3>\n\n<p>Astronomical activity will not stop there, as an annular eclipse will arrive on January 26, 2028. Unlike total eclipses, in this case the Moon does not completely cover the solar disk, creating the characteristic ring of fire effect.
