Born on November 10, 1955, Matos stood out as a key figure in the dissemination of ideas and national debate for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Political and parliamentary career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Matos cemented his political career within the ranks of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), an organization from which he achieved a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, representing the third constituency of the National District. His legislative work was an integral part of a period of political transformation in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His commitment to the political cause remained unwavering, even in moments of internal adversity. With the emergence of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Matos was one of the first leaders to join the project, consolidating a close relationship with former President Hip\u00f3lito Mej\u00eda, for whom he served as spokesperson and press director, as well as a key strategist on his communications team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Andr\u00e9s \u201cLicho\u201d Matos will be remembered for his affable manner and energetic voice, tools he used to defend his ideals and connect with the citizenry through the media.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Communication as a banner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond his partisan role, \u201cLicho\u201d was a born communicator. His voice became a benchmark in programs such as \u201cTribuna Democr\u00e1tica,\u201d where he shared spaces with prominent leaders like Jos\u00e9 Francisco Pe\u00f1a G\u00f3mez, Tony Raful, and Pr\u00edamo Medina. His ability to articulate political discourse led him to hold positions of state relevance, highlighting his management as Director of Communications for the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) during the current administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A farewell to an influential figure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In his final years, various health problems limited his active participation in public life. The political leader passed away while receiving medical care at a hospital in the National District.
