The newly appointed National Organization Secretary of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Gloria Reyes, called for the establishment of precise guidelines to allow for the institutional management of the upcoming internal competition within the ruling party with a view toward the 2028 elections.

Reyes stressed that, although it is natural for diverse political currents and aspirations to exist within a party, it is fundamental to distinguish between ideological or project-based differences and personal conflicts. In his view, party dynamics must be channeled through democratic mechanisms that guarantee the cohesion of the group.

It is not a matter of resistance, it is about what naturally occurs in the struggle for power and space within political parties. Competition is a conflict, only that in a democracy, conflict is resolved in a democratic manner.
Gloria Reyes, National Organization Secretary of the PRM

Preparations for the PRM primaries

The ruling party leader emphasized that the political organization must begin as soon as possible to define the mechanisms that will govern the selection process for its candidates, taking into account that the primaries are scheduled for next year. For Reyes, this is the opportune moment to foster agreements and commitments among the leaders who have expressed interest in a candidacy.

- The management of the structure and membership will fall under the Organization Secretariat.

- The National Internal Elections Commission, under the direction of Deligne Ascención, will be in charge of the processes linked to the selection of candidates.

Reaction to the support for David Collado

During his speech, Reyes positively assessed the recent public support from Eduardo “Yayo” Sanz Lovatón for David Collado’s presidential candidacy. The Organization Secretary described the gesture as a sign of political maturity and nobility.

Likewise, the leader confirmed her integration into Sanz Lovatón’s political team, highlighting that she has worked actively on building said project over the last two years, reaffirming her commitment to the party’s vision of institutional strengthening.
