Young talent Claudio Echeverri is being evaluated by Manchester City’s medical staff after suffering an injury in the match against Al Ain, according to reports. The situation forced the player to use crutches and a protective boot.<\/p>\n
Echeverri scored his first goal for City in his debut as a starter, in the 6-0 victory over Al Ain in Atlanta on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old player had to leave the field with an ankle injury during halftime at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Because of this, he was unable to train with Pep Guardiola’s team on Monday or Tuesday at their Club World Cup base in Boca Raton, Florida.<\/p>\n
He will miss the decisive Group G match against Juventus in Orlando, after requiring crutches and a protective boot on his right foot.<\/p>\n
This injury is a setback for Echeverri, who had patiently awaited his opportunity at City. He was officially signed from River Plate in January 2024, but remained on loan in Argentina until January 2025.<\/p>\n
He was allowed to play for Argentina in the South American U-20 Championship before finally arriving at City in February. He didn’t debut until the FA Cup final defeat against Crystal Palace in May.<\/p>\n
