Corbin Carroll to the Injured List: Diamondbacks Lose Their Star<\/h2>\n\nAfter the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 10-0 victory against the Chicago White Sox, manager Torey Lovullo announced that star outfielder Corbin Carroll is suffering from a hairline fracture in his left wrist.\n\nCarroll, who will be placed on the injured list, was injured last Wednesday when he was hit by a Justin Bruihl pitch in Toronto. Although he remained in the game to run the bases, he was replaced before returning to the field.\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s still a little confusing for all of us,\u201d Lovullo said of the injury, which wasn\u2019t detected by X-rays the night Carroll was hit. “It\u2019s on the back of his hand; the impact of the ball hit the side of his hand. He shows a batting average of .255 and has 44 RBIs and an OPS of .914.\n\nThe 24-year-old player had a great breakout season in 2023, winning the National League Rookie of the Year award, being selected for the National League All-Star team, and finishing fifth in the Most Valuable Player voting.\n\nIn 417 career games, Carroll has a batting line of .257\/.340\/.488 with 71 home runs, 35 triples, 201 RBIs, and 101 stolen bases. He led the National League in triples in 2023 and 2024.\n\nDuring Monday night’s game, third baseman Eugenio Su\u00e1rez (fourth in the majors with 25 home runs) and first baseman Josh Naylor also left the game early: Su\u00e1rez was hit on the right hand by a pitch in the first inning and Naylor left in the fourth with right shoulder discomfort.
