In the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 13-7 victory over the Washington Nationals, Ohtani made his mark significantly.

The Japanese player achieved his first strikeout as a pitcher wearing the Dodgers’ jersey. In addition, he had an outstanding offensive performance with five RBIs, including a bases-loaded triple and his 26th home run of the season.

Ohtani started the game by pitching a scoreless inning, striking out two and showing a notable improvement compared to his first outing. His fastball averaged 97.9 mph, reaching a maximum of 98.8 mph.

After his work on the mound, Ohtani returned to the plate as a designated hitter, demonstrating his ability to compete as a pitcher and hitter at the Major League level while continuing his recovery from elbow surgery.

Shohei Ohtani strikes out back-to-back batters to end the 1st 😮‍💨
pic.twitter.com/AJj2iDBSiz
— MLB (@MLB) June 22, 2024

In the offensive, Ohtani shone with a three-run triple in the seventh inning and a solo home run in the eighth, which was initially ruled a double but later corrected after review.
