He has become the Latin American catcher with the most home runs in MLB history.\n\nThis historic achievement was realized last Monday, during the match in which the Kansas City Royals fell 4-3 to the New York Yankees at Kauffman Stadium.\n\nP\u00e9rez hit an impressive home run against a sinker from pitcher Will Warren in the sixth inning. The ball traveled 422 feet to left-center field, marking the 312th home run of his career and the ninth of the season.\n\nWith this spectacular hit, the experienced catcher surpassed the Puerto Rican Iv\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez, who previously held the record. This milestone considers players who have played at least half of their games behind the plate.\n\nAdditionally, P\u00e9rez tied George Brett as the player with the most home runs hit in the history of Kauffman Stadium, both with 136 home runs in the Kansas City stadium.\n\nThis home run also consolidates P\u00e9rez in seventh place historically among catchers with the most home runs in MLB, approaching the marks of Lance Parrish and Gary Carter.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s special that your name is mentioned alongside Hall of Fame members,\u201d P\u00e9rez said after the game. \u201cBut it would have been much better to achieve it in a victory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<cite>Salvador P\u00e9rez<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nManager Matt Quatraro praised the consistency and mentality of the Royals&#8217; captain.\n\n\u201cSalvador never lowers his head.
