Former Dominican player Miguel Tejada has been announced as the new manager of the Mayos de Navojoa for the 2026-27 season of the Mexican Pacific League.<\/p>\n
The organization confirmed this Thursday the incorporation of the former shortstop and winner of the American League Most Valuable Player award in 2002. The management is betting on Tejada’s experience and leadership to lead a new stage for the Sonoran team.<\/p>\n
Tejada arrives in Navojoa after his performance as a manager in Mexican summer baseball with the Bravos de Le\u00f3n, a team that is currently competing in the top positions of the standings.<\/p>\n
The Dominican continues to consolidate his career as a manager after having had several experiences in different leagues. Last winter, he managed the Karachi Monarchs in a Middle Eastern league, and previously he was in charge of the \u00c1guilas Cibae\u00f1as in Dominican professional baseball.<\/p>\n
Tejada’s arrival comes at a crucial moment for the Mayos franchise, who will officially return to Navojoa after playing last season under the name Tucson Baseball Team and without a fixed venue.<\/p>\n
The directive expects the return to southern Sonora to mark the beginning of a new competitive stage for the organization, now led by one of the most recognized figures in Latin American baseball.<\/p>\n
