Following the victory of MC Alger, which secured its second consecutive title in the top category of Algerian football, an accident in the stadium stands left a toll of fatalities and numerous injuries.\n\nAccording to reports from the Algerian Ministry of Health, three spectators lost their lives and more than 70 were injured after a fall from the upper stand of the stadium.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>&#8220;The Beni Messous University Hospital received 38 injured, while three deaths were recorded,&#8221; the Algerian Ministry of Health communicated in a statement issued via Facebook.<\/p>\n\n<cite>Ministry of Health of Algeria<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe official statement also detailed that Ben Aknoun Hospital treated 27 injured, while Bab El Oued Hospital received 16.\n\nThe President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expressed his condolences to the victims&#8217; families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.\n\nThe MC Alger club also spoke out about the incident, regretting the loss of a supporter.\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DLLaKaBIk-R\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MC Alger club mourned the death of Younes Amguzzi, one of the fans who lost his life after falling from the stands.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nSo far, the club has not issued comments on the other victims.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tragedy in Algeria: Title Celebration Ends in Mourning A sporting event that should have been a celebration turned into a tragedy in Algeria.
