The visit was organized by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Ministry of Tourism, and included a mixed martial arts (MMA) clinic aimed at local athletes.\n\nThe activity took place in the Fencing Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, where athletes from various disciplines gathered, including boxing, karate, taekwondo, fencing, Olympic wrestling, and weightlifting.\n\n\n

Presence of Authorities and Prominent Figures<\/h2>\n\n\nThe event was attended by the administrative vice minister of Miderec, Franklin de la Mota, and other representatives of sports federations. Among those present were Jos\u00e9 Luis Ram\u00edrez, president of the karate federation, and Rub\u00e9n Garc\u00eda, president of the boxing federation, as well as the mixed martial arts commissioner, Fernando Daware.\n\nGrasso’s visit, who holds the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight title, was arranged through lawyer Julio Cury.\n\n

Motivated by the admiration he feels for the Mexican fighter, he held an informal conversation with the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, and with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, who commissioned him to contact her and invite her to the country to share her knowledge with Dominican MMA athletes.<\/p>Julio Cury<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nGrasso expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit the Dominican Republic and share with the athletes, whom he encouraged to take advantage of the training. In addition, he praised the beauty of the country.\n\nDeputy Minister Franklin de la Mota, representing the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, thanked Grasso and his manager for their presence, as well as the sports authorities present. De la Mota highlighted the Government and Miderec’s mission to transform sports and strengthen disciplines such as MMA.\n\nThe clinic, which lasted more than an hour, offered instructions to young people of both sexes, mostly belonging to the “Team Mordan” school.
