I talked about my goals as head of the CBF and said that we want to be closer to FIFA. I praised the event and the level of Brazilian clubs and, finally, made the country available to host the next Club World Cup,&#8221; said Xaud.<\/p><cite>Samir Xaud, President of the CBF<\/cite>\n\nIn the statement, the CBF reported that Infantino was &#8220;receptive&#8221; to the idea.\n\n&#8220;President Gianni Infantino was very happy and said that it is totally possible. Now we will work to make this happen. The high temperatures in the United States have also been a topic of conversation.\n\nSouth American teams have achieved unexpected victories over their European rivals. Paris Saint-Germain, Champions League winner, was surprised by Botafogo, and Chelsea fell to Flamengo.\n\nXaud assumed the presidency of the CBF in May, after a Rio de Janeiro court ordered the removal of the CBF&#8217;s board of directors.\n\nThe CBF&#8217;s announcement came towards the end of the FIFA 2025 executive football summit in Miami, which took place between June 19 and 21, where the 211 FIFA member associations met with the governing body&#8217;s hierarchy.\n\nThe Club World Cup is intended to be held every four years as a test event for the hosts of the following year&#8217;s World Cup. The 2026 tournament will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, while the 2030 World Cup will be held in Portugal, Spain, and Morocco.
