New Gymnastics Pavilion: A Legacy for Dominican Sports<\/h2>\n\n\nThe Parque del Este is transformed into a high-precision center for athletes. The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Pe\u00f1a, and the Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), V\u00edctor – Ito – Bison\u00f3, led the delivery of the total remodeling works of the Gymnastics Pavilion.\n\nThis intervention, as part of the preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, ensures world-class facilities for the athletes.\n\n\n

“We are meeting the established schedule, delivering each installation on time and with the standards required by an event of this magnitude. Our commitment is that the country arrives in Santo Domingo 2026 with ready, functional works that are up to the level of its athletes.”<\/p>\n\nV\u00edctor – Ito – Bison\u00f3, Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nMinister Bison emphasized that the MIVHED has fulfilled the construction and dignification of these facilities. Now, sports authorities, federations, and athletes must assume responsibility for their care and responsible use.\n\nThe Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, approved the construction and confirmed that the space meets the requirements for athletes. With 99 days until the start of the Central American and Caribbean Games, the delivery schedule is on track.\n\nThe president of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, Jos\u00e9 P. Monegro, pointed out that the pavilion is one of the most impressive in Central America and the Caribbean.\n\n\n

Pavilion Details<\/h2>\n\n\nThe work included a comprehensive remodeling of 10,785.48 square meters, optimizing every corner for athletes and spectators. It highlights a competition area of nearly 2,800 square meters with specialized lighting of 1500 LUX, designed for television broadcasts and technical precision.\n\nIn addition, a 1,500-square-meter warm-up area allows athletes to prepare in optimal conditions.\n\nThe renovated Gymnastics Pavilion has a capacity of 3,623 people, with modern stands, VIP boxes, and press areas. It has health areas, specialized medical zones, and massage areas for the recovery of athletes. It also has separate gyms for children and adults, referee areas, and state-of-the-art locker rooms.\n\nFor the public, the venue offers a cafeteria, snack bar, and inclusive restrooms adapted for people with disabilities. It includes Closed Circuit Television systems, high-speed data networks, and the renovation of electrical and sanitary systems.\n\nThe investment in the remodeling was RD$260.3 million pesos.\n\n\n
