The news was confirmed by the team, plunging the fans and his former teammates into deep sorrow.\n\nThe cause of death has not been revealed at this time.\n\nTim Brown, former teammate and Hall of Famer, was one of the first to communicate the sad news through a post on X.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Good evening! With great sadness I inform you that I just received a call from Marissa Robbins informing me that the Raiders&#8217; All-Pro center, Barret Robbins, passed away during the night. Fortunately, he passed away peacefully in his sleep.<\/p><cite>Tim Brown<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nBrown expressed his sorrow and requested prayers for Robbins&#8217; family and teammates. He also mentioned the difficult situation Robbins experienced after not being able to play in the Super Bowl.\n\nBarret Robbins was a prominent figure for the Raiders for nine seasons, from 1995 to 2003, after being selected in the second round of the 1995 draft. He participated in 121 games, starting in 105 of them.\n\nRich Gannon, former Raiders quarterback, also expressed his sadness at the loss of his former teammate via X.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Sad to hear about the passing of my center and former teammate, Barret Robbins. Rest in peace, brother!<\/p><cite>Rich Gannon<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nRobbins, who played college football at TCU, was selected for his first Pro Bowl in 2002. He led the Raiders&#8217; offensive line that reached Super Bowl XXXVII, where they faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.\n\nAn episode that generated concern was his disappearance before Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003. His coach, Bill Callahan, reported that Robbins was not in condition to play upon his return. Subsequently, Robbins revealed that he had not taken his medication for depression and bipolar disorder.\n\nRobbins played nine games in 2003, his last season with the Raiders. He was released in 2004 for the use of performance-enhancing substances.\n\nAfter his NFL career, Robbins was involved in several incidents with the law. In 2005, he was shot by police in Miami Beach, Florida, and pleaded guilty to five charges. In 2011, he was sentenced to five years in prison for a parole violation related to drugs and was released in 2012.
