Matchroom confirmed this.\n\nSmith (19-0, 14 KOs) conquered the WBC belt in January, defeating Subriel Mat\u00edas with a knockout in the fifth round in Brooklyn.\n\nNow, the world champion will return to the United Kingdom to fight for the first time at home.\n\nSmith is number 5 in the super lightweight rankings. Puello (24-1, 14 KOs) is ranked number 7 and is the mandatory challenger to the Brit for his title.\n\nSmith&#8217;s victory over Mat\u00edas, and the way it happened, surprised many and was hailed as one of the great victories by a Brit on foreign soil.
