Relaunch of the Women’s Sports Games Boosts Women’s Sports in the Dominican Republic<\/h2>\n\nSanto Domingo \u2013 The Ministry of Sports and Recreation, led by Kelvin Cruz, announced the relaunch of the Women’s Sports Games. This event, which will bring together more than 680 athletes, seeks to strengthen the development of women’s sports in the Dominican Republic.\n\nThe initiative, which returns after almost a decade of absence, is part of the government’s commitment to expand opportunities for women in the sports field, promoting essential values \u200b\u200bsuch as discipline, equality and talent.\n\n\n

This edition will be dedicated to Melba Segura de Grull\u00f3n, in recognition of her outstanding career and contributions to social development through the Sur Futuro Foundation.<\/p>\n\nKelvin Cruz<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nIn addition, the official inauguration of the sports facilities in Ciudad Juan Bosch, in Santo Domingo East, was announced, as part of the boost to sports and community infrastructure in the area.\n\nThe announcement was made during a press conference held at the Dominican Sports Museum, with the participation of Camel Cury Lora, executive director of the VBC-RD Trust, who provided details about the new sports facilities.\n\nThe organizing committee will be headed by Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino, with Senator Mar\u00eda Mercedes Ortiz as the operational director of the contest.\n\nThe competitions will be held in various disciplines such as indoor and beach volleyball, 5×5 and 3×3 basketball, athletics, judo, karate, taekwondo, wrestling, skating, weightlifting, duathlon, and softball. The sports venues include Bayaguana, the San Isidro Air Base, and the Parque del Este.\n\nThe Women’s Sports Games are supported by various government institutions, reaffirming the state’s commitment to promoting women’s sports and social integration.\n\nIn the event were present, the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Garibaldi Bautista, as well as authorities from the Ministry of Women and the Ministry of Sports, who highlighted the relevance of the event for the growth of women’s sports in the country.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
