The Buffalo Bills have reached a one-year agreement with safety Geno Stone, sources confirmed this Friday.<\/p>\n
This addition further strengthens the Bills’ defense, following the recent signing of veteran C.J. Gardner-Johnson to a one-year contract.<\/p>\n
The Bills haven’t re-signed any of their free agent safeties, including Jordan Poyer, Damar Hamlin, and Darnell Savage. Taylor Rapp, who started in Week 1 of last season, was cut in a move to save cap space.<\/p>\n
Stone, 26, arrives at the Bills after two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Last season, Stone achieved a personal best of 104 tackles, ranking third on the team.<\/p>\n
Originally, Stone signed a two-year contract with an annual value of $7 million. However, the contract was restructured to reduce his salary by $1.5 million.<\/p>\n
In his time with the Bengals, Stone had a season of ups and downs. Although the Bengals’ defense struggled, Stone contributed to the team’s improvement in the last eight weeks of the season.<\/p>\n
