This thirtieth edition, consolidated as the country&#8217;s largest race, attracted runners from more than 35 nationalities.\n\nThe race, designed for the whole family, offered routes of 5, 10, and 21 kilometers along the iconic Malec\u00f3n of Santo Domingo, promoting health, well-being, and integration.\n\nFrom 5-year-olds to 89-year-old runners, the Claro Half Marathon demonstrated its inclusive and intergenerational character. 257 participants were under 18 years old, 49 runners were over 70, and 15 athletes were in wheelchairs.\n\nFemale and male participation was almost balanced, with 51% and 49% respectively, showing the growing interest in an active lifestyle.\n\nThe largest age group was 18 to 29 years old, with 1,959 registered (32%), followed by those aged 30 to 39 years old, with 1,824 participants (30%).\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>With this emblematic event, which inspires and continues to position itself as a benchmark within the national sports calendar, we contribute to the development of sports in the Dominican Republic and to the promotion of values associated with well-being, discipline and family integration.<\/p><cite>Omar Acosta, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications of Claro Dominicana<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe presence of runners from various nationalities, including Venezuelans, Colombians, Mexicans, Spaniards, French, Italians, Dutch, Austrians, Americans, Canadians, Chinese, Indians, Japanese, and Kenyans, highlights the international scope and quality of the organization.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Claro Half Marathon Winners<\/h2>\n\n\nJilberto Santana and Soranyi Rodr\u00edguez took first place overall in the 21KM distance. Santana completed the race in 1:05:52, while Rodr\u00edguez did it in 1:16:44.\n\nThe edition featured RD$3 million in prizes, according to Sahira Sahdal\u00e1, Promotions and Sponsorship Manager at Claro Dominicana.\n\nDeportiva Emoci\u00f3n, responsible for the route and measurement of distances, guaranteed international standards. The 10K and 21K routes are certified by World Athletics in coordination with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).\n\nThe event had more than 400 security personnel, 11 ambulances, 10 hydration points and sports drink stations.\n\nMore than 2,000 free parking spaces were enabled for runners and spectators.\n\nClaro Dominicana implemented waste management actions, promoting the recycling of plastic bottles. More than 70 containers and more than 15 supersacks were installed at hydration points, with the support of the Claro Volunteer Network.\n\nClaro enabled its own registration platform, registering 3,000 runners in the 5-kilometer distance, 2,000 in the 10-kilometer distance, and 1,200 in the 21-kilometer distance.\n\nThe Claro Half Marathon was supported by Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Banco Popular, Gatorade, Planeta Azul, Michelob Ultra, Bon, Caf\u00e9 Santo Domingo, Molinos del Sol, Sambil, U Sign, Gingerly, Recovery Sport Lab, Body Shop, Quisqueya CrossFit, CDN, Color Visi\u00f3n and SIN.\n\nThe race is established as a platform that connects the community, promotes well-being, and celebrates sports with the entire Dominican family.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Claro Half Marathon: A Historic Milestone in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo \u2013 The Claro Half Marathon reached a new record in the Dominican Republic by gathering 6,200 participants and selling out its registrations a month before the event.
