With 6,200 registered participants and the exhaustion of places one month before the event, this race is consolidated as the largest in the country, marking a milestone in national sports history.\n\nThis year, the race designed for the whole family, attracted runners from more than 35 nationalities, who competed in the distances of 5, 10 and 21 kilometers along the iconic Malec\u00f3n of Santo Domingo. The event, which promotes health and well-being, demonstrated its inclusive and intergenerational character.\n\nThe participation ranged from 5-year-olds to 89-year-old runners, including 257 under 18s and 49 over 70s. In addition, 15 wheelchair athletes were part of this sporting event, reflecting the event&#8217;s commitment to inclusion.\n\nThis year&#8217;s edition also stood out for its gender balance, with 51% male participation and 49% female. This shows the growing interest of the Dominican population in an active and healthy lifestyle.\n\nRegarding the age distribution, the largest group was the 18 to 29 year olds, with 1,959 registered (32%), followed by young adults aged 30 to 39, with 1,824 participants (30%).\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>With this emblematic event, which inspires and continues to position itself as a benchmark within the national sports calendar, we contribute to the development of sports in the Dominican Republic and to the promotion of values associated with well-being, discipline and family integration.<\/p><cite>Omar Acosta, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications of Claro Dominicana<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe presence of athletes from various nationalities, including Venezuelans, Colombians, Mexicans, Spaniards, French, Italians, Dutch, Austrians, Americans, Canadians, Chinese, Indians, Japanese, and Kenyans, highlights the international scope of the race and the confidence it generates in the running community.\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Winners<\/h3>\n\n\nDominican athletes Jilberto Santana and Soranyi Rodr\u00edguez took first place overall in the 21KM distance.\n\nSantana won the men&#8217;s category with a time of 1:05:52, while Rodr\u00edguez dominated the women&#8217;s division with a time of 1:16:44.\n\nThis edition featured RD$3 million in prizes, which reaffirms the magnitude of the event and its impact on the sports community, according to Sahira Sahdal\u00e1, Promotions and Sponsorship Manager at Claro Dominicana.\n\nThe organization was supported by Emoci\u00f3n Deportiva, guaranteeing the measurement of distances under international standards, with World Athletics and AIMS certification for the 10K and 21K routes.\n\nThe event had more than 400 security components, 11 ambulances, 10 hydration points along the route, as well as sports drink stations. In addition, more than 2,000 free parking spaces were made available.\n\nAs part of its commitment to sustainability, Claro Dominicana implemented responsible waste management actions, promoting the recycling of plastic bottles through the NUVI PET Integrated Waste Management System.\n\nClaro&#8217;s own registration platform registered 3,000 runners in the 5-kilometer distance, 2,000 in the 10-kilometer distance, and 1,200 in the 21-kilometer distance.\n\nThe Claro Half Marathon was supported by important allies such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Banco Popular, Gatorade, Planeta Azul, Michelob Ultra, Bon, Caf\u00e9 Santo Domingo, Molinos del Sol, Sambil, U Sign, Gingerly, Recovery Sport Lab, Body Shop, Quisqueya CrossFit, CDN, Color Visi\u00f3n and SIN.\n\nThe public&#8217;s great reception, the sustained growth of the race, and the participation of multiple generations and nationalities demonstrate that the Claro Half Marathon is much more than a competition: it is a platform that connects the community, promotes well-being, and celebrates sports with the entire Dominican family.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Claro Half Marathon: An Unprecedented Success in the Dominican Republic The Claro Half Marathon, in its thirtieth edition, has set a new record in the Dominican Republic.
