Levy Explains Postecoglou’s Departure and Frank’s Arrival at Tottenham<\/h2>\n\nDaniel Levy, Tottenham Hotspur chairman, has described the recent decision to dismiss Ange Postecoglou as “emotionally difficult”.\n\nPostecoglou, 59 years old, led Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years, defeating Manchester United in the Europa League final last month. This result also secured qualification for next season’s Champions League, but it was not enough to keep Postecoglou in the job.\n\n\n

“I am very grateful to Ange,” Levy told the club’s internal media. “I do not regret appointing Ange. In his first season we finished fifth and in the second season we were very happy to win a trophy, but we need to compete in all competitions. We felt we needed a change.”<\/p>Daniel Levy<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nLevy added that the decision was collective and that he maintains an excellent relationship with Postecoglou, who will always be part of the club’s history. Despite winning a trophy, Postecoglou also suffered 22 defeats in the league, Tottenham’s worst record in the Premier League to avoid relegation, finishing in 17th place in the table.\n\n\n
