{"id":109954,"date":"2026-02-25T04:57:01","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T08:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alofokedeportes.com\/en\/sin-categoria\/danielky-cedeno-wins-initial-stage-of-vuelta-independencia-in-la-romana\/"},"modified":"2026-02-25T04:57:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T08:57:01","slug":"danielky-cedeno-wins-initial-stage-of-vuelta-independencia-in-la-romana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alofokedeportes.com\/en\/nationals\/danielky-cedeno-wins-initial-stage-of-vuelta-independencia-in-la-romana\/","title":{"rendered":"Danielky Cede\u00f1o wins initial stage of Vuelta Independencia in La Romana"},"content":{"rendered":"LA ROMANA \u2013 Romanense cyclist Danielky Cede\u00f1o took the victory in the first stage of the 47th Vuelta Cicl\u00edstica Independencia Nacional.\n\nCede\u00f1o completed the 117 kilometers of the route between Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds and La Romana with a time of 2 hours, 13 minutes and 58 seconds.\n\nThe representative of Team La Romana demonstrated his skill at home, securing the stage in an exciting final sprint.\n\nHe beat Joseph Ram\u00edrez, from the Verrazano-Santiago team, and James Schurman, from City Bike Miami, by just one second.\n\nWilmer Paredes, from Team Medell\u00edn, obtained fourth position, 12 seconds behind the winner.\n\nIn the team classification, City Bike Miami leads the general table with an accumulated time of 6:47:12.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Opening Ceremony<\/h2>\n\n\nThe official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, who gave the honorary start.\n\nAlso present were Jorge Blas D\u00edaz, president of the Dominican Cycling Federation; Garibaldy Bautista, head of the Dominican Olympic Committee, and various municipal and provincial authorities.\n\nEduardo Kelly, mayor of the head municipality, along with provincial governor Ivelise M\u00e9ndez and athlete Francisco Micheli, participated in the awards ceremony for outstanding cyclists.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teams and Sponsors<\/h2>\n\n\nThe 47th edition of the race, which extends until next Sunday, is supported by the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency, the Ministry of Sports, Banreservas, Seaboard, and Economic Dining Halls.\n\nIn addition, it receives logistical support from the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works, the 911 System, Digesset, Politur and the Dominican Olympic Committee.\n\nIn the competition, national teams such as Inteja Cycling Team, Asocisa\/Santiago, San Juan de la Maguana, San Francisco de Macor\u00eds, Team La Romana, Club F\u00e9nix, Verrazano\/Santiago, El Boro Cycling Team, R2R Cycling Team, Bara Cycling Team, and Asocipe\/Moca participate.\n\nInternationally, CAMA CCD (Guadalupe), Pegasus Texas (USA), Esparza Training (Mexico), Team Medell\u00edn (Colombia), City Bike Miami (USA), Hino One (Guatemala), Team Madras Cycling (Guadalupe), and Four Winds Velo (Curacao) compete.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Next Steps<\/h2>\n\n\nThe second stage, with 153 kilometers, will take place this Wednesday, starting at the Seaboard company, in the Colonial City, and covering Santo Domingo\u2013Ban\u00ed\u2013Circunvalaci\u00f3n Santo Domingo.\n\nThe third stage will be held on Thursday, covering 158 kilometers, starting from the Banreservas Tower on Winston Churchill Avenue, heading to Rancho Arriba, in San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa.\n\nOn Friday, a closed circuit will be held in Mirador Sur Park (140 kilometers), while on Saturday the penultimate stage will cover Santo Domingo\u2013Circunvalaci\u00f3n Santo Domingo Norte (138 kilometers).\n\nThe Vuelta will conclude on Sunday, March 1st with a final circuit in the monumental area of Santiago.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LA ROMANA \u2013 Romanense cyclist Danielky Cede\u00f1o took the victory in the first stage of the 47th Vuelta Cicl\u00edstica Independencia Nacional.
