The young woman, a resident of the Proyecto Los Agr\u00f3nomos sector and a member of the Chichi V\u00e1squez Boxing Club, has become the first woman from Nagua to qualify for the Copa Independencia de Boxeo, a renowned international tournament.\n\nThe event will take place from February 16 to 22 in Santiago de los Caballeros.\n\nCeline began her training in 2024 and quickly demonstrated her talent and discipline, earning silver medals in two consecutive national women’s tournaments.\n\nIn addition to her sports career, Celine studies Clinical Psychology at the Open University for Adults (UAPA). She combines her studies with two hours of daily training and leads a team of 15 young people passionate about boxing as captain.\n\nComing from a middle-class family, Celine has had the unconditional support of her mother, who helps her with transportation expenses for her competitions. Her coach, An\u00edbal Ozoria, has also been fundamental in her training, although both recognize that the support from the authorities has been limited.\n\n
