Tatjana Maria Wins Title at Queen’s Club and Makes History<\/h2>\n\nGerman tennis player Tatjana Maria, coming from the qualifying phase, culminated an unforgettable week in London by defeating American Amanda Anisimova, eighth seed, with a score of 6-3, 6-4. This triumph gives her the title at the Queen’s Club, becoming the first woman to achieve it in more than half a century.\nThis victory marks the culmination of an extraordinary nine-day streak for the world number 86, who had previously surprised Madison Keys, second seed and Australian Open champion.\nAt 37 years old, Maria becomes the oldest player to win a WTA title since Serena Williams achieved it in Auckland in 2020. On her way to the championship, Maria only conceded one set, highlighting victories over Elena Rybakina, fourth seed, and Karolina Muchova, sixth seed.\nThe Wimbledon preparation event at Queen’s Club marked the return of female competitors, a fact that hadn’t happened since 1973, when Olga Morozova of the Soviet Union took the title.\nMaria dominated Anisimova with powerful serves and achieved an early break in the first set, accumulating 12 consecutive points to take a 4-1 lead. Despite Anisimova’s reaction, Maria secured the set.\nIn the second set, Maria maintained her momentum, again achieving a 4-1 lead. When I arrived here, I never thought I could lift the trophy at the end,” commented Maria. “When we arrived, my little daughter said: ‘Wow, that trophy is beautiful, very big’, and I said: ‘OK, let’s go for it. It’s incredible,” he added.\nMaria celebrated her victory with her arms raised, as she watched Anisimova’s forehand go wide on match point, before both players embraced at the net.\n\n
