I just don’t know the place. I’m thinking about the leg, but I don’t know which one, whether the right or the left.”

Alcaraz posed for photographers on Monday with the Australian Open trophy, sporting a casual black style, with loafers and no socks. The photo session took place at the Royal Exhibition Building, surrounded by gardens in the center of Melbourne.

According to media reports, Alcaraz celebrated his victory with his family in his hotel suite, ordering pizza, beer, and champagne.

In a social media post to his followers during the photo session, Alcaraz expressed his disbelief and joy.

“I still can’t believe I did it. A dream come true for me, a career Grand Slam. I am enjoying this incredible moment. I can’t forget the support and affection I have received.”

After completing a match of 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 against Djokovic, Alcaraz admitted that “he hates to lose”. He explained his mentality at the moment of victory.

«Before the last point… many things came to mind, to be honest. I was very nervous, almost trembling. So, once I saw the ball go out, I thought ‘okay, I made it’. It was a great feeling, thinking about my family and my team too».

Now, Alcaraz aims to win all the major tennis prizes: three Masters 1000 titles he has yet to achieve, a season-ending championship, and a Davis Cup with Spain. He has won six of the nine Masters 1000 crowns, but he has yet to win the Canadian Open, Shanghai, and the Paris Masters.

“I hate to lose, so that’s my motivation. Trying to lose as little as possible. There are some tournaments that I really wanted to win at least once. Some Masters 1000 that I really wanted to complete, trying to win each one at least once”.

Carlos Alcaraz

Alcaraz joined Don Budge, Fred Perry, Roy Emerson, Rod Laver, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Djokovic as the ninth man to win all four Grand Slams. He was younger than Budge by 91 days and considerably younger than Nadal, who was 24 years and three months old, Federer almost 28, and Djokovic 29.

«Tennis is very beautiful, but the bad part is that we have tournaments week after week, and sometimes you don’t realize what you’ve been doing lately. Because once you finish a tournament, you have to be prepared and your mind is on the next tournament. What I have learned this year is to appreciate and enjoy every second of the moment you are living. Not only lifting trophies, but playing tournaments, playing tennis, getting victories, getting defeats. Whatever it is, just enjoy and appreciate the life you are living».

Although Alcaraz has acknowledged Djokovic, 38 years old, as an inspiration, he is not sure he can maintain his level of play for so long.

«We’ll see how long I’ll be playing. Hopefully I’ll be in such good shape at 38, competing and challenging young players, and playing Grand Slam finals».
